![]() ![]() Maybe there is not enough interest or its still too new. ![]() Maybe I am blazing trails here or on the just on the wrong "tech" forum. Is the software (shown on my link) any different that what SCT dealers use or is this some kind of watered down version with lesser capability? Are there limits to what cannot be adjusted? Since it creates tune files is it safe to assume it can read all tune files as well? If I buy a tuner and some pre-made tunes can I view the settings of various tunes & gain an understanding? If I felt bold enough, can I make adjustments to these and save as my own version? Is that wrong? Can anyone buy tune "X" open it up with the software and then see what is being adjusted? Can I share my tune with my friend who has their own SCT tuner? Are the tune files obfuscated? Are tune files designed to work with only certain serial number devices? I got lot more questions. ![]() I am not talking about the user adjusted parameters on the 'tuner' itself. Is that proprietary or super secret? SCT's website and AM's video of the tuner do not detail the "countless, countless other settings" managed by the tuning software. My interest is in understanding what is being adjusted between the various tunes. My questions are specific to end user's experience with the Advantage III software itself. I'm NOT going to buy an empty flash tuner and then play with the software so I can go off experimenting on my new 5.0. With all due respect, I think my point was missed. If I ask as question on how to install window tint or which brand is better or I may get told to just take it to a professional but that does not help me install window tint. There is nothing wrong with experience and a great reputation, but that has nothing to do with post. It's great to know high volume mail order tuners have thousands of tunes under their belt. I am not someone that starts turning dials and nobs to see what they control without knowing something first. I get my oil changed by an expert too but that does not mean I don't want to know how to do it or know how its done. I appreciate the advice on "leaving it up to the experts". ![]()
